St Mary's Climate Change Baking Competition Our Climate Change Champions at St Mary’s Barnard Castle are inspiring the whole school to take action with a deliciously creative initiative – a Climate Change Baking Competition, taking place Monday 26th to Friday 30th January.

The pupils proudly shared their idea with the entire school, inviting everyone to take part – including teachers! This exciting competition encourages our school community to think about important environmental issues while having fun and getting creative in the kitchen.

How to Take Part

  • Bake something inspired by an aspect of climate change – this could include wildlife, recycling, renewable energy, protecting the oceans, or caring for our planet.
  • Bring your entry into school on any day during the week that suits you.
  • Bakes will be sold on the same day in school or via the school drive.

Supporting a Worthy Cause

All money raised from the baking competition will be donated to WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature), the charity chosen by our Climate Change Champions, helping to support vital work protecting the planet and its wildlife.

Further details can be found on Weduc and in the school newsletter.

This is a fantastic example of pupil leadership, teamwork and environmental responsibility.
Well done, Climate Change Champions – and thank you for such a brilliant idea!

Time to get baking, St Mary’s!
