School Holidays During Term Time
The Government has amended regulations for taking holidays in term time and these new regulations come into effect from September 2013.
Head teachers have the discretion to grant leave of absence, but they should only do so in exceptional circumstances. If a head teacher grants a leave request, it will be for them to determine the length of time that the child can be away from school. This leave is unlikely, however, to be granted for the purposes of leisure such as a family holiday. Parents can be fined for taking their child on holiday during term time without consent from the school.
Please contact the school if you wish to discuss this with the Headteacher.
Lateness
Our doors are open from 8.45am with lessons starting at 9am. Your child will receive a late mark if they arrive after this time. If your child arrives after the register closes, without a valid reason, they will receive an unauthorised absence mark and their attendance will be inpacted.
If Your Child Is Absent You Must:
- Contact the school office by 8.45 am on the first morning of absence, the phone number is 01833 637029.
- Let the school know the reason for any absence, 'feeling ill' is not sufficient please state the illness/condition.
- Keep school informed on a daily basis if your child is absent for a long period.
