Some of our children from Larks class at St Mary’s Barnard Castle enjoyed a very special visit to The Manor House today as part of our commitment to connecting with the local community and celebrating Intergenerational Week.
Throughout the year, St Mary’s proudly pledges to visit our friends at the Manor House — affectionately known by our Early Years children as “The Nanna House”. These visits give children and older members of the community the opportunity to spend time together, build gorgeous relationships, and develop respect and understanding across generations, while strengthening links within our local community.
The children absolutely love their visits and always look forward to the themed opportunities. Today was filled with smiles as everyone enjoyed playing board games, chatting, and laughing together — with the children making sure there was definitely no cheating going on!
As always, it was a wonderful visit. It was also a special first visit to the Manor House for Mrs Metcalfe, who thoroughly enjoyed sharing the experience with the children.
A fabulous example of community connection and intergenerational learning here at St Mary’s Barnard Castle.
