At St. Mary’s Catholic Primary School, we marked World Kindness Day with a heartwarming visit to our friends at The Manor House, as part of our activities linked to anti-bullying and promoting kindness in our community.

The children and residents enjoyed playing a special game of Kindness Wins Bingo, and there were plenty of smiles as Irene and Lillie won at least four times! After the games, the children spent time chatting, relaxing, and listening to stories, learning more about each other and building meaningful connections across generations.

Before leaving, our pupils shared a beautiful poem they had written, giving the residents a special mention and leaving everyone feeling appreciated and valued.

We are so grateful to our wonderful boys and girls, Rebecca, and our friends at The Manor House for making this day so memorable. As Reece said, “That was fun – I like to chat and see them smile too.” Lillie added, “I think it is important that we visit The Manor because they like to see us and we like to see them. We develop our relationships with different generations.” And Grant summed it up perfectly: “I hope I go again – I enjoyed that!”

This visit was a beautiful reminder of the power of kindness and the joy of connecting with others. At St. Mary’s, we continue to live out our values by showing care, respect, and love in our community.
