The Owls have been learning about the clothing worn by Vikings this week and have even had a go at weaving their own fabric. It was quite a challenge but everyone managed to weave a small sample, but certainly not enough to make a tunic!
A visit to Bowes Museum
What a fantastic RE lesson I observed this week in Larks. The children were able to retell the Annunciation story using key vocabulary both in role play and in their written work. I was very impressed with the hot seating activity- inviting children to ask relevant questions and imagining how Mary must have felt when Angel Gabriel appeared. The children take so much pride with their RE work- it is a pleasure to look at and read. Well done boys and girls and of course Miss Holywell.
'Jesus must be so proud of me' (Cleo Y1, hot seating activity in role of Mary)
EYFS have had another busy week using their maths skills. They have been exploring shape and pattern and they have been making their advent wreaths to as we prepare for the season of preparation. A time of waiting and getting ready for Christmas. Can they talk to you about Advent? Do they know how many candles are on their wreath? Do they know what colours the candles are? I wonder if they know what the circle shape of the wreath represents. There's a lovely conversation to have at home!
