This week in Re we have been exploring 'Other Faiths' It is a wonderful opportunity to learn about other faiths and respect the beliefs of others. Much of our learning was linked to special days, special meals and special symbols. It is always interesting to learn about similarities and differences to our own faith. I wonder... can your child talk to you about what they have learnt about the Jewish faith and the differences and similarities to their own faith? Can our nursery children tell you which is their special day of the week and why?
' My special day of the week is Thursday because I see my brother and sister.' (EY Pupil voice)
Some of the children also chose to pray spontaneously outside this week- lovely to see around school.
Fire pit Thursday
The children in EYFS are going to enjoy a weekly outdoor session around the fire pit- listening to a story and enjoying a warm drink around the fire.
How lovely! I wonder if they can recall their weekly story to you at home too?
Our nursery children enjoyed their weekly visit to the library in Barnard Castle with Alison. The children choose their own books as a member of the library and bring them back to school to enjoy with their friends.Look at their little faces when they get to scan and stamp their book!
Each day the children vote with their pom poms, for the story they would like Miss Pryke to read to the whole class. There's so many books to choose from!
A day in the life of a Viking!
What a fantastic day the children in Owls had this week at Murton Park, delving deeper into their history topic this term. The children experienced Viking life, exploring the Viking village and through a series of creative activities, thoroughly enjoyed learning about Viking food, games and daily tasks. Love these pictures!
