This week we have dedicated prayers to Pope Francis as we continue to be his Pilgroms of Hope inspired by his words in our everyday life.

Here is a short video that reflects the life and mission of Pope Francis as he reminds us ' we are a single family living in a common home.'

Here is a short reflection video from Cafod resources to watch at home and share with others.

EYFS enjoyed a stroll around the market today and managed to buy some lovely bedding plants for our outdoor areas. The picked their own colours and flower types and brought Larks class some plants back too for their outdoor area. Time to get their gardening gloves on!

Larks class have been busy with their indoor and outdoor measuring around school  this week. They made some very accurate estimates and then carefully measured with metre sticks and recorded in their books. Some brilliant team work Larks. Can they tell you how many cm are in 1metre? I wonder, can they remember the length of the playground?

Swifts have been taking their learning outside this week to as part of their RE lessons.

In RE, we explored wind and fire discussing and asking questions surrounding what gives us energy and why wind and fire is so powerful. We shared our questions and discovered sometimes these questions are tricky to answer because we all have difference lives and our answers may be different based on our own individual experiences. It was wonderful to see our school virtue, respect being shown throughout the activity. We created a fire and watched how the wind moved the smoke in different directions and shared who and what gives us energy. The children made wonderful links to our scripture, sharing God's love fills them with energy just like the wind and fire during Pentecost. They can't wait to explore Pentecost in more detail learning about the gifts given from the Holy Spirit.
