A Day of Faith, Celebration and Reflection
Year 6 pupils from St Mary’s Catholic Primary School in Barnard Castle recently enjoyed a wonderful visit to Festival 2026 at the Emmaus Youth Village.
The festival provided an inspiring opportunity for pupils to come together with other young people to celebrate faith through prayer, music, storytelling and shared experiences.
Exploring the Theme "Behold"
Throughout the day, pupils listened to Gospel readings, joined in prayer and celebrated through music, dance and powerful stories.
The children explored the theme "Behold", reflecting on how God is present and working in the world around them, and within themselves.
The festival encouraged pupils to think about their faith, recognise their gifts and consider how they can make a positive difference in the lives of others.
Celebrating the Journey Ahead
The visit was a meaningful part of Year 6's preparation for the transition to secondary school, offering time for reflection on everything they have achieved during their years at St Mary’s.
It was a joyful day filled with faith, friendship and hope, creating lasting memories as pupils prepare for the next stage of their educational journey.
Everyone involved thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and it was a wonderful way to celebrate the achievements of the Year 6 class.
