To end the first week of learning about Chinese New Year, we enjoyed tasting noodles, rice, prawn crackers and curry sauce! Everyone enjoyed it and some of us trying new foods for the first time- brilliant!
This week, the Swifts were developing confidence holding the attention of an audience! We have been developing confidence projecting our voice, using formal language and persuasive language to convince the Magistrates court to release OR arrest Oliver Twist. We created a Victorian Magistrate Court and enjoyed getting into costumes to fully embrace our roles! We enjoyed seeing the jury vote differently after each letter was read and learnt we are very good at debating our points! Fantastic use of persuasive and formal language Swifts!
This week Larks were so lucky to go to Staindrop Academy to take part in the Multi-skills festival with other primary schools. We completed lots of different fun sporting events led by students at Staindrop Academy. The children demonstrated excellent teamwork and resilience! We loved all of the events including targets, hoop throw, obstacle courses and much more but our favourite was definitely the relay races!

Linking to their connected curriculum, the children in Owls have been designing, making and evaluating working water wheels- how creative! The children have been learning more about the River Tees and how water wheels were used in the past. Their models looked very impressive when I was on my learning walk this week- AND they did work! Well done Owls and Miss Pryke who has been delivering the science curriculum this half term.
