The Swifts have been very busy in Science developing comparative testing against light and the absence of light. They have planted potatoes outside in sunlight as well as potatoes inside with no access to sunlight and have been tracking and recording their data on a line graph to observe potential changes in their variables. Fantastic math skills applied!

We have also been investigating how to bend light. We learnt that light bends when it travels through water. We were able to investigate and prove our predictions by placing a straw in a glass full of water. We couldn't believe how the straw appeared bent and broken in the water! We progressed to creating a reflection maze using torches and mirrors to move light across our classroom. Fantastic skills used in Science Swifts- well done!

Edinburgh 2025

A few pictures to share with you from Dynamic Earth, day two of the residential trip to Edinburgh. I will add photographs here as we get them and once the staff are back. I will also add on FB. The children have all had an amazing time and Mrs Porter said they have been so engrossed in their activities. Looks fabulous!

What writers we have in our Larks class! This week they have been developing their oracy skills to help them write a letter. They are getting ready for their learning next week where they will debate

'What colour is the sun really?' linking to their core text 'The Day the Crayons Quit.' by Oliver Jeffers.

We also had some fabulous retelling in RE this week when I was in class- I was so impressed with their retelling skills using key words, accurate sentences, editing and handwriting. Go Larks!
