Another lovely toddler session this week welcoming more new faces which is lovely! It is a pleasure reaching out to our local community and giving parents and children an opportunity for some quality time together and an opportunity to make new friends too. Thankyou for your continued support everybody.
This week the children were curious about where our flour goes to, to make dough for bread! We were very lucky that the kind staff from Morrisons let us go behind the scenes in their bakery and learn how the bread was made. We couldn't believe how many different types of bread there were! We were also shocked at the size of the ovens and how many loaves could fit in it! There is certainly a lot of work in making bread! Once we learnt about how the bread is prepared and baked in Morrisons, we went out to the front of the bakery and chose our favourite types of bread to bring back to school to share with the Wrens. We chose white bread buns, a crispy baguette and fluffy, white flour baps! Once back at school, we learnt how to cut our bread in half, butter it and divide it fairly so everyone had an equal amount of bread to try. Super cutting and math skills used Robins.
A very big thank you for the kind staff at Morrisons who went the extra mile to teach the Robins how the dough is prepped, stored and cooked! They were thrilled with the experience and can't wait to come back to visit!
Last week the Swifts have been focussing on prayer and linking it to our school virtues, which we have displayed in the classroom to help us remember. In science, we have been looking at food chains, the children made some amazing food chains that hang from the ceiling! Y4 also had a walk around town with Miss Holywell as part of their journey in love where they are exploring ways we can help our community stay safe. P.E has been lots of fun as we develop our tag rugby skills.
