This week has been very busy and we have enjoyed so many tasks both in and outdoors-especially when we made ice using food colouring We have focussed this week on counting in 2's. The children have shown resilience and self belief and the improvement in their knowledge is amazing. We have made number tracks, made our own 100 grids, used cubes and other objects to count in 2s. The children have been using socks to help them, as well as natural resources and tens frames. We learned that sharing is important in more than one area. We really have made counting in 2's fun. Our year 2 children have been working on remembering their 2 times tables and dividing by 2. Oh and we have even been fishing for 2's in our water tray which as the weather changed turned to ice but that did not stop us!
Our EYFS children have made the most of the weather too- exploring the ice and paint mixing. Their Junk DNA artwork is amazing and has encouraged some wonderful vocabulary around describing their work. So creative boys and girls!
